Tenmyouya

This poster featuring two Samurai warriors battling over a football was created by Hisashi Tenmyouya, a Japanese born artist. It was created for the Fifa World Cup 2006. The poster represents the modern Japan with a traditional influence. He calls it "neo-traditional Japanese art". Being totally self taught, he is striving to keep a connection between the past and future of Japanese art. He hopes that audiences from other nationalities will be given a better understanding and knowledge through his work.
