Velib Paris
This is such a great idea and although it is not probably the first time it has been used in a city like Paris, I thought it was such a nice design for a bike. Velib is basically a rented bike system that has bike stations located all over Paris for pick-up and drop-off...Cape Town maybe could use this?

Just let u know that in Italy there are a lot of cities where you can hire these bikes for free, for ex:
