Velib Paris

This is such a great idea and although it is not probably the first time it has been used in a city like Paris, I thought it was such a nice design for a bike. Velib is basically a rented bike system that has bike stations located all over Paris for pick-up and drop-off...Cape Town maybe could use this?

Marloes ten Bhomer

Product/shoe designer Marloes ten Bhomer in my humble opinion is a genius. I am intrigued by the way the handle of the bag hugs your wrist and the geometric shapes in his shoe designs.

If you were a little boy once upon a time, or a tom-boy, you will remember running around the garden with index finger pointed forward and thumb point up. Shooting and blasting your way across the trimmed lawns with an unlimited amount of hand ammunition and sand clog grenades. Later on we got wooden carved guns and the odd plastic Colt 45 to wage war with on the neighbours kids. This brings me to the paper construction set for this AK-47 by designer Martin Postler. Building a model and it is a gun! What more could a boy ask for?

Polaroids by Mark Kilson

Now why couldn't I have thought of this idea. Mark Kilson has rendered his Polaroids to have a 3D look by cutting out the people in the pics and bending them into angles that resemble the actual scene where the Polaroid was taken.

The Clear Sneaker Box by Nao is a shoe collectors dream! I love this box design, wouldnt be a great way to store your shoes in your walk in cupboard so that they are easily found and kept clean? I think I have been watching too many episodes of MTV Cribs...sigh. Colette.

Arien Valizadeh

I think Design*Sponge posted Arien Valizadeh a while back and he has been in the back of my mind floating around ever since. There is something very appealing about the rawness of collage, I find it a very personal medium that can be viewed over and over. Peter Beards work is a good example of this.

Manhole cover design
