Colette update Jan 2008

WOW! These items from Colette are amazing! Check out the Nixon watch called The Murf!

Dumpling Man - Soho, NY

If you haven't tried The Dumpling Mans dumplings you are missing out! They are fantastic! I loved the branding of their restaurant's menus and dumpling cards, very simple but effective.

Just for fun

I thought this was funny. It reminded me of walking through some of the art museums in NY wondering, "What the hell is that about?"...or maybe I'm just stupid.

Adrian Tomine

I spotted Adrian Tomines work at Giant Robot (GO THERE!) in NY and immediately loved the clean line of his portraits. He has a showcase of his work in his portfolio, here. Be sure to check out his comic books.

Made Her Think

Made Her Think jewelry is inspired by the ideal of joy in both life and death, a prolific and imaginative collection by designer Meredith Khan. I personally like the the skull rings, lately I have been partial to the mexican styled illustrations including the skulls etc.

This could possibly be the best dressed woman in the world...possibly...via Heart Throbs. Piksi.

Christys Crown Series - NY

I have always been a huge sucker for 3 piece suits finished off with a great fedora styled hat in the same colour as the suit. I was in Urban Outfitters one day and spotted a chocolate brown fedora that fitted my odd sized head perfectly (that doesn't happen often...too many brains up there expanding my head...or was it ego?) The fedora is from the Christys Crown Series and I would recommend checking the collection online if you like hats for 2008. Go here or here.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

I remember a very cold day when I walked into the store, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. I kept ducking into stores so my African blood would heat up a little, man it was cold. Yes Heather, colder than Cape Town, Im not a wimp!

catbird - Brooklyn

Over the next couple weeks I am going to be post about a few places I stumbled upon while in NY and Brooklyn. The first was Catbird, a small design store in Brooklyn that stocks independant designers wares. I loved the kissing couple pendant.
