Deborah Bowness

These wallpapers from Deborah Bowness are phenomenal. I think I would only use them as single strips in a room or maybe even at the back of a coat closet, could be pretty.

Brave Space Design

Wow, I feel like I am in the Alps when I look at the coat rack. It is beautiful. I have always disliked coat racks and stands, but I could consider having this in a hallway or entrance hall. Brave Space Design. Be sure to check out their othe products, especially their coffee table/bench!

Re-surface

I thought these lights would be great for a teenagers room, probably more masculine but still street/skate/edgy...hate using that word...yuk. Re-surface is based in Brooklyn, USA.

Tom Dixon

I like to think I am Eco conscious, although I could do so much more than I do, that is why I was intrigued by the Tom Dixon Eco Ware. Biodegradable cups and other pieces have been made up of 80% bamboo and 20% biodegradable synthetics polymers. I love the shape and form of these, including how the feet have been placed on the cups. His modular table is also very beautiful, shown above.

Plascon Colour Awards 2007

Last year I traveled around South Africa presenting and briefing design students (mostly interior designers) with the Plascon Colour Awards. The brief was to conceptualize and design a new space or room in a home, office, warehouse, airport etc etc. The space designed should have highlighted the power of colour and how it changes moods and the space itself. The work was judged on its innovation, aesthetic, use of colour and functionality. I went through how to research trends, applying them to the project and how to use the colours effectively. Here is the winner (Conrad Stoffberg) top and the three runners up for the competition. Well done to Conrad Stoffberg!

Architonic

I loved browsing through the pages of Architonic. What great items, I could have burnt my credit card to a tiny cinder but I restrained myself.

Lets just hang out.

I loved this garment stand by signalement and designed by Peter Petersen. It was produced using MDF wood and made to shine with a high-gloss finish. I like it because it is slightly raised, almost giving the garment a pedestal to hang upon.
