Visi Magazine Pt. 2

I am loving this "red" cover for the holiday issue of Visi magazine. If you ever want good insight to trends and South African design, this is the magazine to read! Available in English and Afrikaans. (Maybe it should be published in one of our other local languages too?) It would have been great if they could have hooked up with the (RED) campaign and donated part of their sales to help combat HIV/Aids in SA...Im full of ideas today, haha! OH! And the cover is Scratch n Sniff! Good idea!

Design*Sponge

Be sure to stay tuned to Design*Sponge over the next week as Grace and I have done a little project to showcase South African designers on her blog. It was originally going to be on the House & Garden site but due to them closing down in the US we had to move it across the D*S. Thanks Grace and all the designers involved!

The Benchwarmers

This is to all South Africans, as I am sure you can relate to this post. Have you ever been driving and stopped at a robot (traffic light) to see a whole bunch of guys waiting for work and sitting on the grass or standing on the pavement? I always feel sorry for them, they spend hours waiting in the sun. This is why I love this design from Cascoland(site is not working yet), a design project carried out in Johannesburg. The bench can be pulled in and out of spaces and is secured to the fence. Great idea!!
